Photo usage & rights

Our photography is original work. Please respect it — here's what you can and can't do, and how to ask.

The photographs in our Discover feed and site galleries are the original work of the Heritage of Pakistan team, and are protected by copyright. We share them freely to view, enjoy and download for personal use — but reuse beyond that is not automatically permitted.

What's allowed

  • Viewing, browsing and sharing links to pages on this site
  • Personal, non-commercial reference and study
  • Downloading a photo for your own personal use, using the download button
  • Linking to a page rather than copying its images

What requires permission

  • Republishing or redistributing our photographs anywhere else
  • Any commercial use — print, products, advertising, paid media
  • Use in books, articles, presentations, apps or social media accounts
  • Editing, cropping or removing watermarks / credits
  • Training machine-learning or AI models on our imagery

Attribution

Where we grant permission, we ask for a clear credit to Heritage of Pakistan with a link back to www.heritageofpakistan.org, unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Licensing for commercial & editorial use

Publishers, newspapers, magazines, advertisers, tourism businesses and other commercial users can licence our photography. We agree the terms with you directly — the use, the resolution and the price — so the licence fits your project. Academic and research use is usually granted free of charge with a credit.

Request permission to use a photo

Tell us which image(s) you have in mind and how you'd like to use them, and we'll reply with the next steps. Open the usage request form. You can also start a request from the menu on any individual photo.
