Empress Market
Saddar, Karachi, Sindh

Empress Market is the great covered market of Saddar in Karachi, built between 1884 and 1889 and named after Queen Victoria, Empress of India. Its stone clock tower rises above four wings of stalls around an open courtyard. For more than a century it has sold spices, meat, fruit, pets and household goods. It remains one of the busiest and best known landmarks of colonial Karachi.
