Tomb of Qutb ud Din Aibak

Tomb of Qutb ud Din Aibak marks the grave in Lahore of the first Sultan of the Delhi Sultanate, who died here in 1210 CE after a fall from his horse. The original marble tomb was pulled down during Sikh rule, and the grave lay hidden inside a private house for decades before it was rediscovered. The present structure, built in 1970 in Sultanate style from yellow sandstone, stands on Aibak Road in Anarkali, its boundary wall lined with 25 miniature replicas of the Qutb Minar he began in Delhi.
